Hi there, I'm Alecia!
I'm a UX designer who believes you can't build a door without seeing the house first. While that might sound like designer-speak, it actually stems from my philosophy minor in college - I genuinely can't dive into details without understanding the bigger picture.
The unconventional path. Most designers learn by doing. I learned by studying - extensively. Before applying to my first UX job, I completed 38+ certifications and spent years mastering research methodology, information architecture, and systems thinking. Why? Because I realized that surface-level solutions fail when you're designing for complex organizations. If you're going to solve problems for thousands of users with intricate workflows, you better understand cognitive psychology, accessibility standards, and business strategy.
From theory to transformation. That foundation has let me tackle challenges that might overwhelm others - like transforming scattered client data into searchable systems, designing AI interfaces that prevent hallucinations, or creating workflows that reduce task time from minutes to seconds. The deep theory work pays off when you're architecting experiences that actually scale.
Current obsession: AI product design. I'm fascinated by the intersection of human psychology and artificial intelligence. How do we design AI interactions that feel trustworthy? How do we prevent probabilistic behavior from creating user confusion? These questions sit right at the intersection of technology and human nature - exactly where I like to work.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me behind a camera, digging in my raised bed gardens, experimenting with new recipes, spoiling my pets, or working through complex puzzles.
